Estimate Friction Factor for Polypropylene Pipes
نویسندگان
چکیده
The major losses of fluid flow in plastic pipes due to friction are usually few or negligible some cases, and this is the assumption that value factor small (small roughness). This work aimed estimate vs Reynolds number compared against previous data, was estimated using an experimental model consisting a polypropylene pipe with nominal outside diameter 16mm length 8.5 meter eighteen elbows connect it, results showed practical coefficient less than Basilius equation for smooth which indicates smoother numerical formula similar . Finally, amount energy lost PPR other types extrusion process makes inner wall smooth, but it cannot be neglected flow.

Friction factor correlations for laminar, transition and turbulent flow in smooth pipes
In this paper we derive an accurate composite friction factor vs. Reynolds number correlation formula for laminar, transition and turbulent flow in smooth pipes. The correlation is given as a rational fraction of rational fractions of power laws which is systematically generated by smoothly connecting linear splines in log-log coordinates with a logistic dose curve algorithm. This kind of corre...
متن کاملInvestigation of Mechanical Features at Macroscopic Scale for Friction Stir Welding of Polypropylene Strengthened with 40% Glass Fiber
In this paper experimentally, the friction-stir welding of the polypropylene sheets with 40% glass fiber has been investigated. Comparison to other welding methods, the strength of the joint is the most important feature in this process. Many parameters such as tool geometry, rotational speed, linear velocity, and tilt angle are very important as input parameters in this type of welding. Theref...

متن کاملExperimental Investigation of Friction Coefficient in Ribleted Pipes and the Effect of Fine Particles
The effect of fine particles on turbulence damping and reduction of flow friction coefficient in ribleted pipes, have been investigated experimentally. Tests have been conducted in a ribleted pipe with hydraulic diameter of 18.6 mm, and 20 stream wise riblets of 1.8 mm depth, along the pipe. Flows of water tap with Reynolds number from 5000 to 30000 were compared with flows containing silt-clay...
متن کاملMulti Input Single Output Fuzzy Model to Predict Tensile Strength of Radial Friction Welded Gi Pipes
In this paper an effort has been made to design and demonstrate the use of fuzzy logic based model to predict the tensile strength of tubular joints of GI pipes which are welded with the technique of radial friction welding. The model is based on two inputs signals; rotational speed (RPM) and forge load. The Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) technique of fuzzy based systems for mode...
